Elegant Caramelized Pear Salad


  • 3 pears, peeled, cored, and halved
  • 6 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 pkg. Ready Pac Foods® European-Style Baby Arugula or Portofino Salad
  • 1 (4-oz.) Asiago cheese, shaved with vegetable peeler
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup chopped toasted pecans


In a heavy skillet, over medium-high heat, combine 2Tbsp olive oil and sugar, stirring to dissolve. Place pear halves, cut side down, in skillet; cook 5 minutes or until cut side is golden.* Meanwhile, in a large bowl, place Ready Pac Foods® Salad; toss with remaining olive oil and Asiago cheese to lightly coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Evenly divide salad between six salad plates; top each plate with one pear half, sprinkle each with 1Tbsp pecans. Serve immediately.
